Fahrenheit's Taiwan Concert-10/25/09 - Save the Best for Last

October 24, Taichung, 5:00 pm:

“ I’m sorry I can’t go to Taipei tonight. I am afraid I will be missing the concert, I’m sorry.”

“Will you be alright? We’ll miss you.”

“Yeah...”

I was told that we have middle seated tickets near the stage.

I then explained why I can’t attend. My right ankle was swollen. And l was limping badly. And with the concern of traveling and having to go back to Taichung early morning the next day was not a practical move for someone looking forward to the a good presentation. ( I was in Taichung for an asean conference as a participant and presenter.)

Bummer really. I was looking forward to the concerts. Sigh. I guess I just have to pull out another life principle, “Enjoy what is in the offing; you never know what treat it will be”. I instead attended a cultural presentation of Taiwan’s indigenous tribe, an altogether different high -definitely not in FRH's concert realm- and that was one wonderful and awesome experience!

October 25- Taipei  5:00 pm:

‘U better take ur things to venue than back & forth. Wait me at station I go with u. Sms u when I arr’… a sms from my friend who will pick me up at the train station. Right after my academic presentation, a friend dropped me off at the Taichung train station so I can take the speed train to Taipei. 45 minutes after, Rachel picked me up and we proceeded to the venue. There I met Yung, Cass, Sen, Nat and other HK friends.

“Hey, you missed a wonderful concert yesterday! You should have come!”… A comment I kept on hearing the whole time we were together. I arrived with my big black traveling bag, red bag full of conference goodies, my light board bag and my limping gait. I was there a little past 6 pm, lining up because we will be in the rock and roll section. They were worried if I will be fine standing up the whole concert and jestingly answered that wild horses can’t chase me away. They teased me if I will be cheering for Aaron, and in my confusion asked them why they have that thought. So I got out my light board and showed them what I will be holding in the entire concert, isn’t that a declaration enough?

Don't get me wrong, I like Aaron (my scorpion kin) but I like Chun the most.  I also like Dadong ( the coolest rocker) and Calvin( my mental kindred) as well; heck I support them all but I will be cheering loudest for Chun. They asked for my passport so they can get my Taiwan Tourism goodies. Afterwards, Rachel came back with friends who were kind enough to let me leave my bulky bag at their hotel concierge.

Before seven pm, we were allowed to enter the venue, add as early as the entrance, we were prohibited to take pictures. I was warned by my friends, they knew I have a a pro consumer camera. Good thing this time I brought a small camera, I just hope we will be positioned well. Soon as we entered the arena, I let my friends go ahead of me so they can secure a good spot. And we were, second row from the front of the stage. And beside other Chun fans too.

The guys were so high that night. They teased Chun for his faulty Chinese   pronunciations and keep on flashing their chest, Chun even teasingly raised his top several times. Chun poured water in Calvin’s chest and Calvin reciprocated. Chun poured some to us too, the light board come handy as an umbrella for one. Calvin also poured some water, and we all ducked this time.

Chun went to the left side of the stage twice and I saw him carry a young girl. I only get to know she was his niece and read that Chun’s family was seated with some fans. So sweet and so supportive of them. Dadong’s mom was also there and said his love to his mom so many times. Such a filial man.

Aaron gave us a fright when he jumped. He was silent for several seconds and after his song, he assured us he is okay, even speaking in English for worried non-chinese fans.

His Ti amo rendition as always made everybody sing with him. No Jade this time. We all felt we were Jade for him.

Jiro the rocker as always was in his best element with his bling-full guitar. After his rendition of his soft rock song, he collapsed and Calvin has to pull him up as Dadong was still running for his breath.

Calvin has a WOW tattoo at his back. That dance is getting better and better.

The only time I attempted to take a video was during Chun’s solo performance. I guess I’ve taken a lot of videos before and just looking forward to watching this time. My apologies for the red lighted headband blocking the video, the owner was one charming chun fan who danced the whole concert! Better view it in HQ, and need to cut the recording when I was warned by roving security… sigh…

My favorite part was the hot air balloon part and this time the guys have cameras with them. IWhat a wonderful sight for them to see all those lights shouting their names and we get to see them posted in Chun’s blog. I also like the Uptown girl dance. Chun was very flirty and was dancing just in front of us and kept on winking and doing those delightful expressions. I think all of us were in heaven then. Just so up close and too personal.

Chun had 2 caps with him. He threw one near us, tough luck to get it as we were almost all Chun fans in that section. Calvin on the other hand threw one cap just beside me and a HK friend got it.

There were so many delightful Chun moments in the concert. I love most when he sat at the start of the T stage and propelled himself forward using his butt. His impish air drum movements when the concert drum artist was introduced. And his soulful comment when the four was talking.

Calvin: “FRH forever? “… whatever your answer … you did not comment then… we will support you.

I almost forgot my swollen ankle until the end of the concert. Heck, I just remembered Chun performed in the 2nd day HK concert with heel fracture, mine was peanuts compared to his pain. The concert was over after that much loved encore. We were hoping for a second encore but then, that was too good to be true.

Rachel and I decided to get my bags after the concert while some went to FRH’s hotel to meet them and say their congratulations. We decided to meet them at an intersection so we can all go for hotpot. They arrived sooner than expected; apparently FRH hasn’t left the arena yet. We were just chatting when some Japanese and HK friends passed by, running and squealing. We were watching them when one of us murmured, “FRH van  in front of us”.    True enough, the blue FRH van was moving slowly on the road beside us.

Haha, we just watched as the van moved ever so slowly and I commented “ Why are we not running after the van?” and we just looked at each other.

Afterwards, we enjoyed a hotpot and retired late in our hotel. I decided to sleep the earliest- well 330am is early right? - because I have a plane to catch early that day.

I’m a bit disappointed I cannot attend the Fahrenciti fan gathering. But work beckons and I have some responsibilities.   I will have my dinner with the guys next time, now that’s something to look forward too.

What was my impression of the concert? Been to the HK concerts and then in Malaysia too but I’d say they were in their best element on this concert. As always, I enjoyed it immensely. I’d say this is their best concert so far. Well what can I say, it was in their home turf and in the present of very loving and supportive fans.

Here’s looking forward to the next activities.
Fahrenheit,  you guys really rock!

Happy Birthday Calvin and Aaron

Dadong, I’m enjoying Momo love, don’t mind the media news.

Chun, hope to see you in your 14 Blades promotions. JIA YOU! JIA YOU!!!
